4 bovines rescued, smuggler held

UDHAMPUR, Dec 17: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and arrested one smuggler who was transporting 4 bovine animals to Kashmir valley.
While conducting surprise checking at National Highway near Jakhani, a police party from Udhampur led by SHO Police Station, Udhampur Inspector Deepak Jasrotia intercepted one Tata Mobile bearing registration No JK02BD 3591 which was on its way towards Srinagar from Jammu.
During thorough search of the vehicle 4 bovine animals were found loaded inside the vehicle and accused identified as Mohd Muneer son of Mohd Hussain of Marallian Tehsil R.S Pura, District Jammu, who was transporting 4 bovine animals to Kashmir.
All the bovine animals were rescued and accused person arrested on spot. In this connection, a case FIR No.404/2013 U/S 188/RPC 3 PCA stands registered at Police Station Udhampur against the accused.
