| HC takes note of IGP Security's report | | PIL seeks security for Janipur court complex | | early times report Jammu, Dec 17 (JNF): In a Public Interest Litigation filed by an Advocate Sumit Nayyar seeking directions to State to provide proper infrastructure and security cover-up in the Court complex Janipur Jammu and to take effective measures of ensuring safety and security of the judges, advocates, employees and clients, Division Bench of State High Court Comprising chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Hasnain Massodi after going through the status report and report filed by the IGP security, took serious note of the report of IGP security and observed that it appears that IGP security has no idea about ground realities otherwise he would not have written proper access control is in place along with electronic security gadgetry besides manual frisking in the District Court complex Jammu and adjacent Court complex Housing other judges of Subordinate Judiciary. Division Bench further observed that the issue regarding to traffic congestion and the report of the committee submitted in the matter and directed IGP Jammu Zone shall remain present when High Power Committee headed by Registrar General of J&K High Court is constituted. Division Bench further observed that the issue regarding the use of Judicial Lock-ups raised along with issue of security, there are hardly any metal detectors functioning in district Court complex and there are no CCTV cameras in place and the users of the complex are exposed to any risky proposition at the hand of anti-national/terrorists elements and directed IGP Jammu Zone shall remain present so as to assess the necessity of providing the facilities to ensure the security of the users of the complex. Division Bench observed that on the last date of hearing, this Court directed JMC to clear bushes and shrubs around Court complex so that the advocates, public and staff may not face any difficulty in accessing the court complex, Adv SS Nanda appearing for the JMC stated that necessary staff has been put to clear the bushes and shrubs and directed JMC to file status report before next date of hearing.
