| 12 students held for writing answer sheets at night | | | ET Report
Rajouri, Dec 29: Police claimed to have arrested 12 students for allegedly writing answer sheets at night, who were appearing in commerce subject examination being conducted by Aligarh Muslim University in one its centre set up at Manjakot.Police also booked the principal of the Muslim Institute of Education (MIE) and other staff members for their involvement and all the students were caught red-handed by the police during raid at the institution situated about 25 kilometers from Rajouri city on Jammu-Poonch highway. Police said that on the intervening night of December 27 and 28 it received a call from some unidentified person that some students writing answer sheets for the examination to be held on December 28 at 1 pm. Swung into action, a police team headed by inspector Mehmood, SHO, Manjakkot rushed to Ghambir Mughlan and during the raid at MIE at about 12.45 am police party found 12 students writing the answer sheets. All the students were caught red handed by the police in the presence of Naib Tehsildar (Magistrate and seized and sealed all the examination material including answer sheets and question paper in the presence of magistrate. A case under FIR No 98/2013 and under sections 120B 409 and 420 RPC and 2/3UE Act has been registered against the students and principal Zakir Iqbal and other staff members involved in this episode. |
