Jammu, Dec 29: The indictment against State Police by Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India for alarming law and order situation in state in its report of 2011, is being seriously reviewed by the Police Department as the crime rate in district Jammu has registered slight increase in the year 2013 as compared to previous year. Though, only a few cases were registered more than last year but the disposal process of the same is speedy in what was seen during previous year. As per available data till mid December, in all the 25 Police Stations in district Jammu 6 more cases have been reported as registered in the year 2013 compared to 2012. In the year 2013, 4438 cases have been registered in different Police Stations of district Jammu while in the year 2012 the number was 4432. Going by cases registered in district Jammu, 457 cases have been registered in Police Station Domana,337 cases have been registered in Police Station Nagrota,310 cases in Police Station Gandhi Nagar,270 in Police Station Akhnoor,254 cases in Police Station Bahu Fort, 223 cases in Police Station Satwari, 220 cases in Police Station R.S Pura,204 cases in Police Station Kahna Chak,119 cases in Police Station Pacca Danga,187 cases in Police Station Nowabad,151 cases in Police Station Bishnah,173 cases in Police Station Bakshi Nagar,similar number of cases registered in Police Station Gangyal,167 cases in Police Station Jajjar Kotli,131 in Police Station Miran Sahib,150 cases in Police Station Channi Himmat,131 cases in Police Station Janipur,105 cases registered in Police Station Garota, 102 cases registered in Police Station Arnia,101 cases in Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu, only 73 cases in Police Station City, 85 cases in Police Station Khour,81 cases in Police Station Peer Mitha,63 in Police Station Bus Stand and 48 cases registered in Police Station Women Cell, Jammu. However, in the year 2012, there were 4432 cases registered in 25 police stations of district Jammu. |
