early times report Jammu, Dec 29: Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Coordinator for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency, Abdul Hamid Choudhary today said that time has come to repeat the era of good governance, accountability and transparency which was once established by former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. In his statement issued here, the PDP leader said that it was during the regime of PDP led by party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayed that the gap created between people and politicians was filled by giving people a free access to corridors of power. The common masses who were once alienated by ruling elite were made partners in development by holding elections to local bodies. He said that time has come to repeat that era where democratic institutions were strengthened and unemployed recruited through proper channels. All recruitments were made by government institutions like State Service Selection Board (SSRB) and Public Services Commission (PSC), which functioned independently and no backdoor appoint was made for political gains as was being done now. Unlike past regimes, it was during PDP rule that employees, common people, youth, industrialists and agriculturists were all given their due share and an era of peace and progress was established. Choudhary Hamid said that since both elections that of Parliament as well as state assembly are drawing near and PDP has launched a mass contact programme, people must support party to establish a rule of law in Jammu and Kashmir State. People of Jammu and Kashmir State, the PDP leaders said are craving for a big change which is possible only when communal forces and those working in isolation are shown the door. PDP, he added stands for equitable development of all three regions of state. It's only PDP which can ensure development of people irrespective of cast, creed, region or religion for which it must be voted to power, he added.
