DDC visits several far flung areas of Samba

SAMBA, Dec 29: District Development Commissioner, RK Verma conducted a tour of village Babeeti, Sodam, Baiyaan, Khabaal of Samba district to take stock grievances of the people besides reviewing status of ongoing development works in the area.
The DDC held public grievances camp at Babeeti village, people in large number including Sarpanchs ,Panchs participated in the camp and projected their demands and problems pertaining to repairing of roads/road connectivity to adjoining areas, the availability of drinking water, regular supply of electricity, health centre beside old age pension/handicapped pension issues.
The DDC listened to the demands and problems being faced by the people patiently and assured them that all their issues would be redressed in a time bound manner.
He instructed all the heads of the departments to work with missionary zeal and dedication for resolving the issues of people leaving no space for complains.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC said the motive behind holding such meetings was to have firsthand knowledge about the problems of the people so that needful can be done to mitigate their sufferings.
He called upon Panchayat representatives to play their role in making people aware of different Government schemes as being nearer to people they are in a better position to serve their respective areas by properly identifying and executing the development works and welfare schemes.
He exhorted upon the officers to ensure that benefits of various development and welfare schemes reach to the real beneficiaries timely.
He directed the concerned officers to create massive awareness about different State and Centrally sponsored schemes and stressed upon the Panches and Sarpanches to render their services with utmost zeal and dedication.
In the camp officers from Horticulture Department and Animal Husbandry department aware the masses about the various schemes of the department and asked them to take benefit of these schemes.
The DDC was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer Samba, Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineer PWD, PHE, PDD, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Education Officer, Tehsildar, Block Development Officer Samba, and heads of various departments.
