Committee examines revised master plan for Katra

EARLY TIMESR REPORT
REASI, Dec 29: The committee of officers constituted by District Development Commissioner to examine the revised Master Plan of Katra and physically verify the proposed land use on ground, held its first meeting under chairmanship of Addl Deputy Commissioner Rajinder Singh Tara.
ACR Tilak Raj Sharstri, ACD Joginder Singh Rai, DFO Nadeem Hussain, Chief Agriculture Officer, Assistant Director Tourism, Dy CEO SVDSB (OSD) and officers from all 10 departments attended the meeting where a detailed powerpoint presentation was given by Consultant and explained by Chief Town Planner Joginder Singh. Threadbare discussion were held on land use proposed for civil amenities, industrial development, environmental conservation, development of infrastructure, markets and hotels among other types. The committee will carry out extensive field visits till January 4, 2013 and submit a comprehensive report to the District Development Commissioner.
District Officers have further deputed departmental teams of Revenue, Rural Development, Forests, Agriculture, Urban Development, Tourism departments and Katra Development Authority of studying on ground all the aspects of Master Plan related to their departments and departmental land so that a comprehensive exercise if carried out for incorporation in Revised Master Plan.
Meanwhile, taking a serious note of constructions along Domail-Katra road the DDC has issued instructions to the departments for immediately stopping all constructions and erection of hoardings along both the sides of BRO road which includes vast patches of state, forest and BRO land.
