Kathua, Jan 14: Eid-i-Milad is celebrated by the Muslim community with great pomp and show by taking out a religious procession around the town Kathua here today. The procession starts from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park and after passing though Kathua town, it culminated at Idgah where thousands of Muslim devotees offered the prayed as Namaz and memorized the Prophet Mohammad at Idgah.
Haji Gulam Rasool Wania, Conever Suni Islahai Committee Kathua, Secretary Faqir Hussain, Imam Kathua, Moulvi Bashir Dinnn Jaaama Masjid Kanyari, Ayub Sadri principal Madrsa and several others told that the celebration is marked to celebrate the birth anniversary of holy Prophet Mohamad who led the people from dark to light by giveng them spiritual teachings. On the occasion they also expressed sincere hope that the auspicious occasion would be harbinger of harmony, peace, progress and prosperity in the state. |
