Javaid Naikoo SRINAGAR, Jan 14: At a time when National conference (NC) leadership accuses State Congress for creating hurdles in establishing new administrative units, Congress leaders say that the issue is being used as vote bank politics by NC. Pertinent to mention Congress has already endorsed the recommendations of Biloria Committee. Calling the establishment of new administrative units as need of the hour, senior Congress member and Chief Executive Councilor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) of Kargil, Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai said that the Congress never opposed establishment of new administrative units in any part of the state and whatever is happening in the name of establishing new administrative units is mere a game of vote bank politics by NC leadership and beyond the understanding of human soul. He said that recommendations of committees that have submitted their report is endorsed by one and all in State Congress leadership and does not need actors to play dramatic roles for use. While demanding new administrative units for Kargil District which include three sub divisions at Sanko, Taisuru, Shaker-Chikten, three Tehsil headquarters at Drass, Shargole, Shaker- Chikten, new blocks at Barso, Sod, Karsha, Chuliskando, Tashkun, Dhinbad, Parcachik, Working president District Congress Committee Kargil and former Executive Councilor, Nasir Munshi said that issue is being politicized unnecessarily as need for establishing new administrative units has its purpose and need. Another Congress candidate from South Kashmir's Tral area, Surinder Singh Chani while calling it a mere an eye wash from NC leadership demanded that keeping in view the population graph of Tral area it must be given one Sub District, Two CD blocks at Aripal and Dadsara areas, 12 new Patwar Halqa's, besides separate R&B division, one industrial unit and keeping in view the scenic beauty of the area it must be also given one Tourism Development Authority Pertinently as political leadership in Kashmir these days is involved in accusing each other for creating hurdles in establishing new administrative units, highly placed officials within State administration revealed to Early Times that the recommendations of S.S Biloria committee in connection with establishing new administrative units across the Jammu and Kashmir which include new District headquarters, Sub Districts, Tehsil headquarters, Halqas, Nayabats has been discussed in many a Cabinet committees held since coalition Government was formed in the state and every time it was discussed in such Cabinet meetings, State Congress Ministers always showed their willingness to establish new administrative units wherever necessary. Sources also added that Biloria committee report which is yet to be made public is based on a thorough research conducted by its members keeping in view the population graph, history of areas, revenue records, economical status of areas, demand of people and geographical topography of the areas and NC leadership like other politicians despite being aware of the fact that nothing more than Biloria committee recommendations would be established, however, having nothing in kitty to ask people to vote in favour of its candidates once again for the forthcoming Parliamentary cum Assembly elections, NC leadership is befooling the common masses by making noise on administrative units deliberately at a time when Parliamentary and Assembly elections are about to commence. |
