According to a doctor who on promised anonymity, Dr Abhimanyu Gupta on October 30 was directed to shift from Department of Neuro Surgery to the Department of Medicine but having his influence and good relations with the then Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, he admonished the Principal Government Medical College Jammu Dr Shashi Gupta and showed reluctance to join his duties following which he was barred from services in concerned department. "But the doctor who is 'no where' as is without any department viz. one has barred his services and other he didn't report, in a self styled manner continued to attends the patients in the Nuero Department and allegedly lured patients to his private clinic, the he added. According to sources, the Doctor in question is presently running a private clinic in Maheshpura locality situated in close vicinity of the premier health institution of Jammu province. They said that despite numbers of written and verbal complaints against him to concerned higher ups, the said medico has least bothered to adhere the directions of the senior doctors and continuing his intentional visit to hospital. "Without any call and instruction from his seniors, a neurosurgeon posted in Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) Jammu is attending patients for his personal vested interest", said sources in SS, while underlining that the act of the said doctor could pose a danger to the life of patients. However, Principal GMC Dr Shashi Gupta when contacted about the complaint denied and said that she had not received any complaint whereas a well placed source in the hospital claimed that a verbal report was filed with Head of the Department (HoD) Neurosurgery Minister for Health and Medical Education Taj Mohi-Ud-Din when contacted about the same, he briefly replied, "I have not come across any complaint as yet but if the same is true, stern action will be taken against the medico for violating the medical policy". |
