Kathua, Jan 14: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) today organized a one day financial inclusion literacy campaign at Government Higher Secondary School in Kathua. The one day campaign was organized with an objective of creating awareness among school children about financial literacy and inclusion campaign. The main participants were Deep Kanathia, SDM, Billawar, Aman Kalsotra, DDM, NABARD, Kathua, R K Kalsotra, Lead Bank Officer, Kathua, R K Gupta, Branch Head, J&K Bank, R L Bhatt, Principal, GHSS, Baddu, Balwant Singh, SDPO, Agriculture, Billawar, Nirantar Kumar Sharma, Sarpanch, Baddu besides other members of the villages. Deep Kanathia, Director, SBI-RSETI interacted with the youth and explained the need to change the way we work in society. He impressed upon the students to come forward and organize themselves in SHG groups, learn skill development courses, which will go a long way in empowerment of society. He asked them to take advantage of various government sponsored schemes by being job creator. He explained them how to identify fake notes and the importance of credit in development, with special emphasis on education loan and employment generation schemes of State / Central Government. He asked all the students to open account with the bank in their area and take benefits from banks by keeping small deposits, availing DRI, micro-insurance etc. A quiz completion was held on the occasion and prizes were distributed on the occasion. R K Kalsotra, LBO, Kathua interacted with the students. He informed them about the initiatives undertaken under financial inclusion by different bank and asked all the students to open no-frill accounts to their advantage. |
