Kathua, Jan14: Sikh Youth Welfare Society (SYWS) today strongly condemned seeking British support to launch Operation Blue Star in 1984 in the Golden Temple where thousands of innocents were victimized and crushed down brutally by then Union Government. SYWS, through a press release, appraised that secret documents reveals that The UK authorities collaborated with the Indian Government in planning Operation Blue Star- the controversial 1984 Golden temple operation authorized by then Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. SYWS has informed that documents reveals how a UK special Forces expert visited New Delhi and advised Indian authorities on how to retake the Golden temple despite acknowledging that any Military action could exacerbate the communal Violence in Punjab and rest of the country. Shagun Deep Singh Bali, Bhupinder. S. Sehgal, Harjinder Singh, Er Harpreet Singh and other members of SYWS have added that a top secret letter written on Feb 23, 1984, nearly 3 months prior to Operation Blue Star, by BJP (not the name of a Political Party) Fall, Principal Private Secretary to British Foreign Secretary states as 'The Indian authorities and PM recently sought British advise over a plan to crush down Sikh Community in Punjab. The members condemned the whole plan framed to target particular community and said that government should find out remedial measures to solve crisis instead of merely attack on particular community and their holy places where then President of India was also ignored before attack. They added that a committee should be framed to inquiry such a huge plan to target the community which was overtly violation of human and fundamental rights. |
