Jammu, Feb 18: A 20 year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging self at her residence in Janipur Tuesdayafternoon, police sources said. a case in this regard stands registered at concerned police station.
The deceased has been identified as Monika daughter of Parshotam, resident of Janipur Colony.
Police said that the girl was found hanged by her family members and after getting the information police reached the spot and collected the circumstantial evidences besides shifting the body to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu for autopsy.
Police sources said that after autopsy, the body would be handed over to family members for last rites.
A case in this connection has been registered to ascertain reasons behind the extreme step taken by the girl. |
