| ADC Kishtwar orders seizure of NC leader's bank account | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar, Feb 18: Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammed Hanief Malik today ordered seizure of bank account of a local National Conference leader and Ex Sarpanch Wali Mohammed Giri after objections were raised by Sanathan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar over release of an amount of Rs.14 lacs in his favour on account of land compensation. As per the details, the revenue department released the said amount in favour of the NC leader who claims the ownership of 4 kanal18 Marla land out of 11 Kanals of land acquired by the government in village Poochal for construction of Kishtwar-Sinthen road. In this connection a deputation of Sanathan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar today met ADC Kishtwar where the Sanathan Dharam Sabha representatives claimed that the said land for which the revenue department released the compensation in favour of the NC leader actually belonged to cemetery (Shamshan Ghat). They also demanded an inquiry into the alleged fraudulent transfer of the cemetery land in the name of the said leader. After lending patient ear to the issue raised by the Sanathan Dharam Sabha representatives, ADC ordered seizure of the bank account in which the compensation for the said land was transferred by the revenue authorities. It is pertinent to mention that earlier an FIR was registered by Vigilance Organization Jammu against the District Congress President Kishtwar and his associates for fraudulent transfer of the land coming under the alignment of the same road. All the accused in this case including former revenue officials were out on bail. |
