Jammu, Feb 18 : PDP MLA from Lolab Abdul Haq khan had to face the heat in the State Legislative Assembly today when the Speaker Mubarak Gul directed the Assembly watch and ward staff to marshall him out from the House.Haq who vehemently wanted to make his point despite repeated appeals by the Speaker to let the Question Hour proceed, twice trooped in front of the Speaker's chair ignoring Speaker's pleas who assured to give him the opportunity to make his point after the Question Hour was over.Talking to the reporters outside the House, Haq said that some people in Machil area of his constituency were struck in eight feet snow and were chronically ill and needed immediate medical attention. He wanted the Speaker to direct the government to immediately make arrangements for their evacuation to Kupwara where they could be treated. He also said that a woman amongst those struck had died.Earlier Speaker made fervent appeals to the agitated Opposition not to disrupt the question hour. "Government has worked so hard to prepare the replies of the questions of the public, let us do justice to this House" Speaker appealed to the opposition. The members of the Jammu opposition including BJP, NPP, JSM also started protests seeking Duggar Channel on the analogy of Kashir Channel . Balwant Singh Mankotia of the NPP was joined by Yashpal Kundal, Ashwini Sharma, Ashok Khajuria, Gharu Ram Bhagat and others in sloganeering in favour of Duggar Channel. After registering their protest against the inability of the government to project the long pending demand of the people of Jammu, the Jammu opposition staged a walk out from the House. |
