Kathua, Feb 18 : Residents of Kathua have blamed the CAPD for having nexus with local Flour Mills here in district to plunder the public ration, here today. The residents including Papu Sharma, Preeti, Narinder Metha and Rajesh Singh accused the CAPD for delivering the less quantity of Flour at exceeded rates from Rs.85 to Rs.90 to the consumers. "This is criminal act adopted by department to distribute less ration to the rarionees fix by the Government", they said, adding that they urged to government to take stern action and put the culprits under prosecution. They briefed that a pack of wheat flour is marked as 10 Kg which is meant to deliver to the consumer at the government rate of Rs. 85 through CAPD's respective depots but at first the Depot Incharge charges Rs.90 for every 10 kg pack and other side the quantity of flour is also reduced by 50 to 200gms per pack. "The illegal action mostly conducted by the Mill Owners with the mutual understanding of CAPD officials that led a huge loss both in terms of quantity and money of the common innocent consumers of Kathua", they added. The victimized consumers also pointed out a nexus of CAPD with Amrit Flour Mill Nagari. Not only this when we put the flour for food preparation, a considerable quantity of wheat husk was also extracted that led the actual weight of 10 kg flour to 8 to 9 kilogram. It means, during the packing of flour at flour Mill, there would have been an abundant practices of adulteration conducted in connivance with CAPD officials by the owner of the Mill, they added. Being asked, about the allegations leveled by locals, RC Bhagat, AD Food Kathua termed the allegations baseless. However it is not only a bitter truth but also a disappointing also, that there is immense adulteration in the flour because the CAPD has no serious and honest approach and even the parameters to make a strict check over the quality control system and the unseen sand particles are the common to be found mixed with the Depot flour, consumers said. The locals demanded a fair investigation should be conducted by the government and the district administration also which the prime watch-dog agency to see the public problems and make sure the quality of flour at the depots. |
