Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 25: Hoardings of Health Department in various parts of Jammu are still showing Shabir Ahmad Khan as Minister for Health despite the fact that he had resigned few weeks back.
One such hoarding has been installed outside the Directorate of Indian System of Medicine (ISM) on flyover near Indira Chowk, where Shabir Ahmad Khan's picture is pasted on a big hoarding which also carries picture of Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Khan had to resign from the Ministry after a lady doctor alleged that he tried to molest her in Civil Secretariat in Srinagar in January this year. Khan went underground after resigning from the post and only came out when court granted him bail.
But the Health Department in Jammu is yet to face the reality and the hoarding on flyover outside ISM directorate is the example of that.
Presently the Health Ministry is with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as Congress party is waiting for the police probe to end and know whether Khan will be convicted or given clean chit. If Khan gets clean chit, he will be given back the Ministry again and if he is convicted Health Ministry will be given to some other Congress person.
But till then Health Department has to believe that Khan is not Minister anymore and hoarding installed on the fly over be removed and if they want to paste a picture of Health Minister, Chief Minister's photo must be installed as he is in control of the Health Ministry. Or they should not keep place of Health Minister on any hoarding or banners.
