| Police organizes Road Safety Awareness Camp at RS Pura | | | Early Times Report R S Pura, Feb 25: Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu Samba Kathua Range, in his continuous awareness drive on road safety, today organized third road safety awareness camp at R S Pura under Civic Action Programme (CAP) with an aim to promote road safety sense among people to reduce road traffic accidents. While speaking on the occasion DIG Jammu Kathua Range said that the road accident data indicates loss of 53 precious lives and injury to 470 persons due to road accidents in a month in Jammu Province at an average loss of 2 precious lives and injuries to 16 persons per day. DIG Jammu further said that the children have been involved in the awareness camp especially to inculcate a sense of road safety as they are the future generation of the nation and could prove disciplined defensive drivers in the years to come. In the end DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range also gave away the trophies to Paras Sharma and Bumika Sharma of Police Public School and Niharika of Blossom Public School who were declared top three winner respectively debate on road safety. The DIG Jammu was accompanied by Rajnish Pran, SP Staff Officer to DIG Jammu, Randhir Singh SP Hqrs., Parshotam Sharma, Dy Director Prosecution, Prashant Mahajan CPO, Davinder Singh SDPO R S Pura. Pawan Parihar SP Traffic City Jammu also attended the awareness camp. Large number of the transporters, drivers, prominent citizens and large number of students from various schools attended the awareness camp.
