| CJM issues NBWs in Wamiq Farooq case | | | Et Report Srinagar, Mar 3 : Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar today issued fresh non-bailble arrest warrants against ASI Abdul Khaliq and SPO Mohammad Akram for their production before it in connection with the killing of boy Wamiq Farooq in old city here in 2010. The CJM V S Bahu issued the warrants to be executed by Inspector General of Kashmir for procuring their attendance. The court posted the case for further proceedings on March 14. Pertinently, Wamiq Farooq, a class 7th student, was hit by a tear smoke shell at Gani Memorial Stadium in old city in 2010. He died on the spot. The arrest warrants were actually issued in August 2013. However, before they could be executed, the accused filed a revision petition before the Sessions court which stayed it. The revision petition was dismissed on February 26 by the sessions, vacating the stay and directing execution of the warrants by March 3. However, as the accused failed to show up, the CJM issued fresh warrants to be executed by or before next hearing date in the case. |
