40686 kanals of state land illegally occupied in Sringar, Jammu 3/3/2014 11:11:44 PM Bashir Assad Jammu, Mar 3 : 38302 kanals of state/nazool land is under un-authorized occupation of individuals/entities in Sringar city while as in Jammu city 2384 kanals are occupied by encroachers. In a written reply to a question of CPI(M) legislator, M Y Tarigami, Minister of State for Revenue, Ajaz Ahmad Khan Monday informed the House that drive for removal of illegal encroachments is going on in full swing and so for 5313 kanals of land has been retrieved from the illegal encroachers in Srinagar city. Khan said that necessary efforts are being made to retrieve the state land from the occupants. He said most of the state land within the municipal limits in Jammu is JDA land. About the ownership rights under Roshni Scheme, Khan said the ownership rights have been approved to 291 cases (469 persons) in respect of land measuring 496 kanals 10 Marlas for an amount of Rs. 1,04,98,31,847 under the provisions of J&K State Land (vesting of ownership rights to the occupants) Act 2001. The mutations have been attested in respect of land measuring 235 Kanals 06 Marlas and an amount of Rs. 52,17, 21,496 has been realized from them. Khan said in respect of Jammu city an area of state/nazool land measuring 314 Kanals 19 Marlas has been approved by the district Price Fixation Committee for vesting of ownership under Roshni Scheme, for an amount of Rs. 171.81 crore against which the occupants have deposited an amount of Rs. 15.17 crore.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
