| Rs 1501.68 crore spent under NRDWP during last four years | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 3: State government today said that Rs 1501.68 crore was spent between 2010 and 2013 under National Rural Drinking Water Programme. Replying to a question of Naresh Kumar Gupta in the Legislative Council, Minister for PHE Sham Lal Sharma said that Rs 1501.68 crore has been spent and 474 tube-wells and 9,733 Mark-II Hand Pumps have been installed in the state under NRDWP and state sector schemes from April, 2010 to April, 2013. Replying to another question raised by S Dharambir Singh Oberoi in the Council, Minister of State for Transport, Manohar Lal Sharma said that no casual, need basis and Contractual appointments have been made in the State Motor Garages (SMG) Department during the last three years. However, 115 permanent appointments have been made during the period, including regularisation of services of 9 Adhoc employees as per the Government Policy, he said. Sharma said the promotion of officers of SMG Department has been made by the Government as per the standing Gazetted Recruitment Rules of the Department. Minister for Tourism G.A. Mir replying to a question raised by Sheikh Ghulam QadirPardesi in the Legislative Council said that New Type Primary Health Centre is functional at Panthachowk and efforts are underway to provide ambulance to the hospital during the next financial year subject to the availability of funds. Replying to another question raised by Sham Lal Bhagat, Minister said that 89 schemes were sanctioned during last three years in erstwhile Doda district under PMGSY Phase -VIII and IX. Out of these, 29 schemes have been taken up for execution and rest of the schemes is under tendering process. One scheme namely "road from National Highway to Digdol"has been Black topped under Phase-I with a length of 1.34 Km at a cost of Rs. 31.10 lakh. He said that the department is making all-out effort to complete all the roads at the earliest. However, the work on most of the schemes in the erstwhile district Doda has got delayed due to non-response for the stage-II schemes sanctioned under phase -VIII and IX, primarily due to low cost celling in the sanctioned cost at Schedule of Rates 2008. The matter stands taken up with the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. In reply to another question by Rani Gargi Billowria, the Minister informed that the Vijaypur- Ramgarh-R.S.Pura road is a Defence Road and is being maintained by Border Road Organization (BRO), adding that there is no proposal of improvement/ upgradation of existing road with the Organization.Replying to another question by Showkat Hussain Ganai, Mir informed that the construction work of Health Sub- Centre, Turkawangam and Wachi has been proposed in the current years plan at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.76 crore each for which Rs. 10 lakh each has been earmarked for the purpose. The Minister further informed that the construction work of Health Sub Centres Chittergam and Kapran would be taken up during the next financial year subject to availability of funds and land. |
