| Veterans upbeat over revival of ex-Servicemen Cooperative | | | | Jammu, Mar 28: Veterans are upbeat about the revival of Sainik Vanaspati Factory of the ex-Servicemen Cooperative at Bari Brahamna after the board meeting held in the factory at Bari Brahamna today when its chairman Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal informed them that Chief Minister had informed him in a meeting while discussing the problems of the ex-Servicemen of the State that the Govt. is ready to support the modernization, expansion and diversification of the unit if it is managed professionally. Since it has already been approved by the Board to manage it professionally, they are hoping to see it going into production this year which will produce 50 tons refined oil and 30 tons mustard oil per day providing employment to 200 people directly with over a 1000 indirectly. The meeting was attended by the elected directors including 100 years old Capt Narayan Singh who was happy to know that he could see the prestigious factory produce our preferred 'Jawan' and 'Sainik' products again in his life time. All the govt. directors including S S Sasan, Director Planning and J S Choudhary Regional Director NCDC Chandigarh assured full support of NCDC once the J&K Govt. recommends it. They also appreciated the efforts of the management and the members appealed to the Chief Minister / Cooperative Minister to revive the unit immediately. |
