| Why inefficient officers holding important position on crucial places? | | Compromise with security due to Police-Politician Nexus | |
Early Times Report JANGLOTE (Kathua), Mar 28: After a gap of exactly 6 months and two days, terrorist again struck on the Jammu-Pathankot national highway between Samba and Kathua. Earlier, on September 26, 2013, terrorists had attacked Hiranagar police station and later entered into an Army formation at Samba. September 26 terror attack was glaring example of security lapses but no action was taken against those officers who were at the helm of the affairs at that time. Ironically, one of the officers who were at the helm of the affairs at that time is again holding the similar responsibility in this sensitive border belt. Today's terror attack was again an example of security lapses because police had got information about terror attack at about 4.50 am and same information was passed on to the PCR Jammu within no time. But it will take police to nearly two hour to intercept the terrorists who had hijacked a vehicle. Same thing was repeated when terrorists attacked earlier on September 26. It was clear security lapses because after attacking Hiranagar police station terrorists had moved on border roads in Hiranagar and the Jammu-Pathankot highway, without being intercepted at any place before they carried out the attacks on the Hiranagar police station and the Army camp of 16 Cavalry in Samba district. After September 26 terror attack, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to probe security lapses but no action has been taken in that failure. Police officers under whose jurisdiction "security lapses" were reported in the Hiranagar area on September 26 were included in the Special Investigating Team (SIT) so it was an attempt to shield those officers. Credible sources said that during September 26 attack, authorities had shielded a couple of officers who have strong political connections. These "blue-eyed" officers, who have repeatedly proved their inefficiency, are still enjoying important position due to their political connections. Credible sources in the police said that instead of appointing efficient officers on sensitive areas, politicians, who are ruling the state, always tried to adjust their blue-eyed boys on these sensitive positions. |
