Sources close to Omar Abdullah and Ghulam Nabi Azad said the agreement to this effect has been signed. They added Omar Abdullah persuaded Rahul Gandhi to have an alliance for the assembly polls as well and accordingly the agreement was signed. "Omar suggestions on seat sharing were accepted without much arguments", they claimed. An important meeting of State Congress leadership has been called by Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief Saif-ud-Din Soz on Sunday in Srinagar in which seat sharing agreement will be discussed in detail, they said. Sources said that some leaders were not happy with the seat sharing agreement. According to them, the leaders have contested from their respective constituencies repeatedly and are not willing to concede their seats. "They may either severe ties with the Congress or launch their own parties", they said. Omar and Ghulam Nabi Azad have been seen together lately. Omar accompanied Azad when he filed his nomination papers for the lok Sabha polls. |
