| Several political, non-political organizations condemn Kathua terror attack | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 28:The terrorist attack at Dayala Chak and Army Camp Janglote, Kali Bari (Kathua), in which two innocent civilians and an army jawan lost their lives, was strongly condemned by several political and non-political organizations. Patron of PDP Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and president of the party Mehbooba Mufti have strongly condemned the terror attack and expressed sympathy with the family of an innocent civilian who lost life in the attack.In a statement issued here today, leaders of PDP said that today's attack was handiwork of anti-peace forces. Calling upon people to frustrate evil designs of those forces which are bent upon to disrupt peace in this region, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti strongly condemned today's incident. They expressed their condolences with the family of those who lost in the attack. They also asked the authorities to provide adequate medical facilities to those who were injured in the attack. Bharatiya Janta Party's (BJP) candidate for Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat Dr. Jitendra Singh, also condemned the attack and termed it as an anti-national act. Dr Singh, who was the first to reach Government Medical College and Hospital's emergency this morning at 6:30 am soon after the three injured in Dayalachak militant attack were shifted there. Talking to media persons, he said, this was an act by anti-national forces, who were frustrated by the grand success of Narendra Modi's rally at Hiranagar on Wednesday. Dr. Jitendra Singh lashed out at the Congress leadership for its weak kneed policy towards Pakistan and appeasement towards separatists. He also flayed the government for allowing unchecked sale of army uniforms which were used by the terrorists in today's incident. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has also condemned the Kathua terrorist attack. In a statement attack issued here today, state NCP president Randhir Singh while condemning the terrorist attack said that it is shocking that state and central governments have failed to plug the perennial routes of Pakistani infiltration from Shakargarh to District Kathua which was raised by him from time to time. Singh demanded creation of Border Scouts employing local unemployed youth and Ex- Servicemen. After imparting proper training, their services can be used for the security of their villages. He also sought Rs 10 lakh compensation for those who got killed and employment to their family members while government should also ensure free of cost treatment for those who were injured in the attack. Senior Congress leader and former Minister Babu Singh has also condemned the twin militant attacks in Dayalachack and Kathua, saying it reflects that Pakistan is continuing with its strategy to strike at will through proxy war of terror and challenging the dignity and pride of India. In a press statement, Singh asked Pakistan to come on track of peace and development by shunning the path of bloodshed otherwise India will have to take a strict stand which would never be good for Pakistan. The loss of life and property and unjustified interference from Pakistan side in the Indian Territory now has not become the subject of tolerance of Indian state, it would be answered with iron hand, Singh added. Senior Youth Congress leader Ajat Shatru Sharma has strongly condemned the terrorist attack at Kathua and Dayalachak. Sharma said that for the past some time, the terrorists want to destroy peace and communal harmony of the area, as Kathua remained peaceful district even during the peak of militancy in Kashmir. He said that Innocent civilians including unarmed soldiers are being targeted from behind by the Fidayeen terrorists. But the aspirations of their bosses across the borders cannot be successful and peace and communal harmony of the area would not be disturbed, he added. Sharma demanded immediate ex-gratia relief for the terrorist violence victims from Government and serious exercises should be made to check this intelligence failure for future. Meanwhile, in a meeting of the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, held in the High Court Complex, the terrorist attack at Dayala Chak and Army Camp Janglote, Kali Bari (Kathua) was strongly condemned. President of the Association M K Bhardwaj, Sr. Advocate while lauding the role of police, army and Para-military forces in countering the militancy advocated for strengthening them with most sophisticated weapons with latest technology. Citing today's terrorist attack as an eye opener for those who are consistently advocating the removal of AFSPA, the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu appealed to the State and Central Governments to strengthen the security grid and VDC's, wherever they are existing and creation of more VDCs in the border villages of Jammu, Samba, Kathua and other parts of the State for effective and timely counter of the militants by the civilians also in addition to the armed forces. An appeal was also made to the citizens of the State to remain united, vigilant and to co-operate the police and armed forces in fighting the menace of militancy in every possible manner so that the morale of armed forces is boosted and terrorists get a befitting reply against their nefarious designs of waging proxy war against the country and their ill-intentions of disrupting the democratic process for conducting peaceful and successful parliamentary elections. |
