Women protest held against 'Power Breakdown'

Bhaderwah, Mar 28: Locals including women from Shaan Bagh village of Bhaderwah here today lodged a massive protest demonstration against the Power Development Department (PDD) for 'failing' to repair damaged transformer in the locality which has been plunged into darkness for last 15 days.
Led by Naib Sarpanch of the Shaan Bagah,Udrana Shamim Khalid protesters alleged that the power transformer installed in the village got damaged few days back as a result the people are without power supply for over fifteen days. Protesting women urged the district administration to direct concerned officials to repair the transformer failing so the people will be forced to block the Bhaderwah Doda road in protest. They alleged because of power failure the water supply too has been stalled further enhancing problems for women folk who have to fectch water from nearby natural water resources. Though team of Development went to area to repair defunct transformer but it failed to rectify technical snag leaving the problem as it was.
