| NC dis-empowered women: AAP | | Fail to reach out to Asiya, Neelofar, mothers of missing youth ? | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Mar 28: National Conference (NC) which claims of empowering women has actually disempowered them by not fulfilling its promises made to the fair sex. Speaking at a various public meetings in Khansahib assembly segment of central Kashmir's Budgam district, the AAP leader Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat said that National Conference has always played with the sentiments of people of Jammu & Kashmir by raising hollow slogan of Autonomy etc . "Not only the people of the state have been emotionally blackmailed but NC played with the sentiments of the women folk as well",he said. Raja who is AAP's candidate from Srinagar Parliamentary seat said that National Conference promised to establish a " Women's University "in the state in its 2008 assembly election manifesto , but the party miserably failed to fulfill it. "Leave aside Women University the NC lead coalition could not even establish few degree colleges and other career based institutions specifically for girls , what kind of women empowerment NC is talking about ?" he questioned. " Asiya and Neelofar from Shopian and mothers of missing youth and are still waiting for the justice but the Government hardly reached out to them . Where is NC's truth and justice commission which they promised to establish ? The State Women's Commission is a mere tooth less tiger and a powerless institution whose orders are hardly implemented by the Government agencies . Has the NC lead Government tried to address all these women related issues" ? Dr Muzaffar questioned the NC leadership. |
