Early Times Report Rajouri, Mar 28: Police today claimed to have arrested six persons including son of serving Executive Engineer, in connection with several cases of thefts in Jammu and Rajouri districts. Police have also recovered large number of stolen items from their possession including car, motorcycles, LCDs, Laptop etc worth lakhs of rupees. The accused have been identified namely as Sadam Hussain, Hassan Sani s/o Javed Iqbal, Irfan Ahmed s/o Zakitr Hussain, Raja Ather Mirza s/o Mohib-ur-Rehaman a serving Engineer, Aizz Ali s/oMohd Rafiq and Yasir Khan s/o Farooq Khan all resident of Rajouri district . Mubassar Latifi, District SP while appreciating police functioning to maintain law and order in district said that for the last few months several robbery incidents were reported from Rajouri city and from its peripheral areas and accordingly 4 - FIR were registered at Rajouri Police Station and the synergy between the police teams finally ended with solving of many theft/ burglaries cases. "Under the supervision of AK Atri, IAS, DIG and District SP, Mubassar Latifi a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted comprising Hamid Choudhry, DySP HQs, Yashpal Sharma, SHO and Mohd Sharief Rajouri Police Post in-charge," he added. After their hectic efforts SIT succeeded in apprehending some suspects and their sustained interrogation lead to the arrest of six burglars who admitted the thefts and police also recovered stolen property/items from their procession. He said that recoveries include 01-Maruti Car-800(purchased from sale produce of stolen property under FIR No 136/14); Sony Laptop, 02-LCDs, 06-intex speakers and 01 Web Cam, 01-5 KV voltage stabilizer, 01-Canob printer (under FIR No 118/14), 04-Scorpio tyres (under FIR No142/14) and 02-Car Music Systems, 07- bass tubes and 02-Alloy wheels (under FIR125/14).' He said that accused arrested have been identified namely as Sadam Hussain who ferries the stolen items to Jammu in Scorpio Car, Hassan Sani, Irfan Ahmed, Raja Ather Mirza, Aizz Ali and Yasir Khan all resident of Rajouri district. SP Rajouri said that police has also recovered three Motorcycles (may be stolen property) and a Scorpio car from the possession of the accused used to carry the stolen items to their destinations. He added that all the accused belong to affluent families and were using the money of the stolen items for their lavish life style and to carry their illegal activities. "Their ensuing sustain interrogation may lead to recoveries of some more property and arrest of their some other associates/colleagues" said SP Latifi. |
