| One held, search for others on; intrusion bid foiled in Poonch | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Mar 28: In a major success police claimed to have foiled a bid to sabotage the ongoing election process with arrest of an Pak trained militant who had crossed over to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) in 2006 for arms training and had crossed back on the intervening night of March 26/27 in Poonch district.

According to highly placed sources, following intelligence input about the movement of a group of four highly trained terrorists including Mohd Bashir of Baliyardara, a self styled Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) commander had successfully entered the Indian soil to disturb the forthcoming Lok Sabha election, the security forces including local police have geared up their resources.
And during the process, the local police have arrested a militant who had infiltrated on the intervening night of March 26/27. Sources said, "Whether other three have retrieved back or managed their successful entry to this side is a matter of further investigation but the police and other agencies are not taking any chance this have launched massive search operation in the entire area."
Police sources said that after intelligence inputs by their own sources a joint operation with the army was launched on the late night of March 26 in Bagliyaldara village situated just between Line of Control (LoC) and Fencing along border thus making prone and vulnerable to such freaky infiltration bids from ultras.
"After day long search in the village and in the forests in the vicinity of the village troops succeeded in apprehending the Pakistan trained militant belongs to Fatehpur village of Rajouri district, sources added.
When contacted DIG Rajouri-Poonch range, AK Atri, said, "Police arrested militant in a joint operation with army and effected the recovery of One K 47 rifle, 02 magazines, 49 rounds and other ammunition.".
"The sustained interrogation/questioning of the militant was in progress and soon more details will be available, the senior police official added.
Meanwhile reliable sources said that since Thursday, a rumpur that two militants had entered into Indian side from Bagliyaldara was in air." "During joint search cum combing operation launched by the Poonch police and army, the security forces apprehended one Mohammad Azeem s/o late Mohd Zaman. He was immediately frisked to unknown place by the police for further interrogation. |
