Hold political rallies only at designated places: Police | | | Mustansir
Srinagar, Apr 1 : In view of the threat of disrupting the poll process by militants in the state, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in collaboration with other security agencies have worked out a security plan which has already been issued to the political parties for holding election rallies at designated places. The J&K Police has asked the political parties to hold rallies only at designated to avoid any misadventure by the militants who might try to disrupt the poll process. According to sources police and security agencies have identified four to five places in every Assembly segment of the Kashmir Valley where the political parties would be allowed to hold election rallies. Police sources said the guidelines for holding election rallies have been issued after thorough security assessment keeping in view the apprehension that militants might try to disrupt the poll process. They said all the political parties have been told to abide by these guidelines. The political parties have also been told to seek prior permission from the concerned police stations in advance for holding election rallies. They said no election rally would be allowed without prior information. Though the intentions of militants are yet to be known, however, killing of a old aged who was father of a political worker has sent shock waves among the security and political circles who fear that militants may again try to disrupt the poll process to enforce the boycott call given by separatists. |
