Jammu, Apr 1: Following repeated militant attacks along international border, majority of residents prefer peace in their respective areas instead of choosing any political party.
The residents of border area alleged that before elections political parties make assurances for socio-economic development, but ground reality exposes what they have been assuring for years together.
"We want peace....we have nothing to do with any political parties BJP, Congress, NC and others. Ironically, the government of India has too failed to fill our wound, which is causing militants attacks and firing on borders for long time, Sukh Ram, resident of Jaglote area, where militants have attacked recently.
"Prime Minister of India must take effective measures to ensure peace across the borders" a group of senior citizen said in unanimous voice, in the backdrop of visit of political leaders after attack.
"Our representatives of different parties putting up in posh areas and they had never spent sleepless night like us, due to cross border firing.
They appear in border areas to get votes only or most probably when some incident took place in area," they said.
"This incident reveals that how much our security agencies are alerted ahead scheduled elections this year" a resident of Lagate village (where the dead of abducted driver was recovered) Bodh Raj said.
He added that the in September 2013, 3 militants who attacked Army camp at Samba and Police station Hiranagar were also travelled from Dalaychak due which whole belt in district Kathua was under panic.
Another resident of Hiranagar added "The villages situated close to International Border (IB) are under panic since last year when heavy shelling took place and due to this incident their panic increases" he said.
He added these incidents also halted farming activities which is livelihood of maximum people in these villages. "We will caste our vote in elections and will choose the candidate who will take measures for the benefit of people and especially border residents.
I hope the maximum people will caste their precious votes" he said.
