| Z-Morh Tunnel was inaugurated by Rahul Gandhi: Soz | | `BJP should not own projects started by UPA' | |

Srinagar, May 19: State Congress President Prof Saif-u-Din Soz today alleged that BJP is trying to mislead people of Ladakh over the construction of Z-Morh Tunnel leading to Zojilla.
In a statement Soz said that former BJP president Nitin Gadkari created an impression through his speech at Leh yesterday that the BJP Government at the Centre would soon take up the work at Z-Morh Tunnel leading to Zo-Jila.
"The fact is that the Z-Morth Tunnel was inaugurated by Rahul Gandhi last year and the work had also been started. The UPA Government had provided funds to the tune of Rupees 2700 Crores for the Z-Morh Tunnel," Soz said. He further said that the UPA Government had also sanctioned Rupees 9600 crores for construction of Zojia Tunnel. "It is so tragic that an atmosphere has been created in which falsehood can travel faster than the truth. The new government at the Centre should not sell to the people works that had been sanctioned and implemented by the UPA," he said. |
