Early Times Report

Jammu, May 19: Nominated as provincial presidents with much fanfare to strengthen party's organizational set up, Omar's trusted generals, Devender Rana and Nasir Aslam Wani have become villains of the NC with party's rank and file accusing the two squarely for poll debacle in just concluded Lok Sabha elections.
Sources said there is strong resentment against the two and demand for their ouster is gaining strength by the day. "The defeat is the sole outcome of the policies of the Rana and Wani. These two leaders were heading party's poll programme and were advisors to the Omar and the blame should naturally fall on them," said a NC Cabinet Minister.
According to sources, the working of these two leaders would be discussed in the party working committee scheduled to be held tomorrow. Sources said many senior NC leaders have decided to air up their concerns and grievances against these two leaders in the open during the party meeting.
NC sources said many leaders who were feeling suffocated to the point of being alienated by the coterie of the CM had now decided to train their guns not only at these two leaders but also at the CM also.
"CM was just unapproachable. He would communicate through his aides. No one was allowed to meet him directly . It is the result of this style of the working that we have reached the nadir of our political career," said one of senior NC Minister.
The NC is worried that there is very strong possibility that the party could be decimated further in the coming Assembly elections. The party feels unless Omar and his coterie is send packing it will be death for it.
The Chief Minister had already indicated that he is not going to step down. He has communicated it through his point man Aslam Wani, which had further antagonsied the party leadership. "The CM should have first discussed the situation with us and then made any comment. He is still communicating through his coterie and twitter. It seems he has not learnt his lessons but is claiming to learn," said another NC leader.
