BJP indulges into "day dreaming" as party sets target of 44 seats in Assembly | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 19: After winning three Parliamentary seats in the just concluded Lok Sabha elections, all due to the Modi Wave, the BJP leadership in Jammu and Kashmir has indulged into "day dreaming" because party has announced "Mission 44" to get 44 seats in coming Assembly elections. In the Parliament elections when Modi Wave was on its peak, the BJP has managed to get lead in only 25 assembly seats, out of total 87 segments despite the fact that party has won three Lok Sabha seats. Ironically BJP leadership has so far failed to even select candidates for 37 seats of Jammu province but party leadership is claiming to get 44 seats, which is ridiculous claim of BJP leadership whose credibility is already under cloud. In 2008 Assembly elections when there was strong wave in favour of party aftermath of Amarnath land agitation, BJP got only 11 seats which was a record. A party which can get only 11 seats during strong wave is claiming to get 44 seats in the coming assembly elections when Congress leadership in Jammu would also utilize all its resources to further expand its base. Another important aspect is that Lok Sabha elections were held only in the name of Narender Modi but Assembly elections would be held on the basis of the performance of the candidates. Even the incumbent BJP MLAs have failed to perform in their respective constituencies so achieving the target of Mission 44 is looking a distant dream for the party. Credible sources in the BJP said that party leadership has prepared a blue print to accomplish "Mission 44" . And in this regard the party has decided to utilize services of all organisations related to BJP. |
