3 of 6 PF offices without inspectors, ACPFs | | | Arun Singh
Jammu, May 19: Out of six Provident Fund Offices, three are functioning without inspectors and Assistant Commissioner Provident Fund (ACPF). This reflects the indifference of the Labour Department towards the labour class. Sources said that there are six Provident Fund offices in Jammu Province barring Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur the offices at Samba, Rajouri and Doda are running without ACPF and inspectors. The Samba district is the main casualty of government's apathy despite knowing the fact that 60% of the total revenue in shape of PF comes from Samba district which is the main contributor in the Jammu Province but in absence of ACPF the grievances of the labour class are not being properly handled as the two inspectors deployed in Samba are in legal dispute," they said further adding that ACPF Jammu has been given additional charge of Samba district. They further informed that in-spite of PF inspector in Samba, another inspector from Srinagar managed to get his transfer in Samba district using influence at high ups which led to a dispute and issue went to court. They said that earlier government had issued an order that concerned district inspectors will be appointed as ACPF but department transferred Srinagar inspector in Samba district and incumbent inspector asked to leave and join in Rajouri against the ruling which he denied to comply with. Due to dispute among the two inspectors the working is suffering a lot and labour class is at the receiving end. They further said that despite having two inspectors in Jammu, one is from Doda and another is a lady who never moved out from Jammu, administration is least bother to send one of the PF inspectors to Samba office as a result it is functioning without inspector. Presently only two employees are working one clerk and head clerk. |
