| Mehbooba, Beigh, Karra to visit their respective constituencies before landing in Delhi | | LS Verdict 2014: | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 19 : Buoyed with the overwhelming performance in the just concluded Lok Sabah elections in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership that swept all three constituencies in Kashmir valley has decided to visit different all the parliamentary constituencies to express its thanks to people for their due support. Naeem Akhter, PDP chief spokesman and MLC said that the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti is scheduled to visit Khanabal Anantnag on Tuesday before leaving to Delhi this week to meet people and express gratitude to them. "Likewise PDP heavyweight and senior leader Muzaffar Hussian Beigh, who won from North Kashmir Lok Sabha constituency is scheduled to visit Baramulla and Tariq Hamid Karra, who made Union Minister Farooq Abdullah to eat humble pie and won from Srinagar Lok Sabah constituency too is set to visit different areas of his constituency before leaving for national capital New Delhi this week. The said visits of elected PDP Members Parliaments (MPs) are aimed a brief interaction with leaders and their electorates in respective constituencies. If recalled here in a major setback to National Conference (NC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated the coalition of NC Congress with clean sweep and won all three seats in Kashmir valley. PDP Party president Mehbooba Mufti won the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat defeating her nearest rival of NC, Mehboob Beig by a margin of 65417 votes. Meanwhile from Srinagar-Budgam constituency, PDP's Tariq Hameed Karra defeated National Conference patron and Union minister Farooq Abdullah by margin of 40628 while in another surprise PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Beigh defeated his closest rival Shariefudin Shariq by 29,223 votes from Baramulla constituency. |
