Early Times Report Jammu, May 19: Expressing concerns over the problems of people following landslides and mudslide at various places at Historic Mughal Road - the alternative road to Kashmir valley from Jammu, Senior leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Yash Pal Sharma, MLC today asked the state government clear blockade on the Mughal road so that vehicular movement on this road should be started. In a statement issued here today, Yash Pal Sharma regretted that this road was closed for vehicular movement a couple of months back due to heavy land sliding on this track. "It is very unfortunate that the state government has failed to remove blockade on this vital road," he said and pointed out, "residents of Poonch and Rajouri were facing hardship due to blockade of this road which has been emerged as economic life line for the residents of this border belt. " Alleging failure of the state government to get clear blockades on this road, Senior PDP leader said, "it reflects the casual approach being adopted by the Omar Abdullah government to solve day today problems of the people." Sharma said Mughal road is nearest road net work for the people of Poonch and Rajouri to reach Srinagar-the summer capital of the State and its significance becomes more with functioning of Civil Secretariat at Srinagar and delay in clearing this road for vehicular movement would compound woes of the common masses. |
