| Students from IOWA University reach LPU under Study Exchange Program | | |  Jammu/Jalhandar, June 23: As part of student exchange program, 13 students & faculty members from one of the top universities in America, the IOWA State University of USA reached Lovely Professional University (LPU). This was the third visit of students from foreign universities in this session after visits from MRU Canada & Coventry University UK “We are happy on welcoming students at our campus to further strengthen relationship. It is more inspiring that the Canadian students have visited LPU second time to share strong bonds. On the same lines our students will also be going to MRU under such a program,” stated an official of host university. LPU’s nutrition and dietetics department supported the group in their study and held mutual discussions to study & work for finding solutions to malnutrition problem particularly in India. Welcoming IOWA students LPU Vice Chancellor Dr Ramesh Kanwar assured visiting students to accord each and every help in their project of study. “Nutrition and Dietetics field is gaining popularity amongst people worldwide as world is becoming health conscious. Our university is also endeavouring to produce high calibre dieticians with all of the academic, practical, therapeutic and personal skills required for the profession,” he added. According to spokesperson, during their busy schedule, the visitors also enjoyed many cultural activities and learned about the great Indian values. Visiting students from IOWA State University of USA namely Ella Gehrke and Steven Carlson said, “We are impressed by the state of arts environ at the vast university campus of LPU. “We worked with LPU students to understand the typical malnutrition problems being faced in India. We feel that malnutrition, here, has not arisen due to any shortage, it is an outcome of ignorance, they said further adding, “We are happy that the way students and faculty at LPU accommodated us is indeed appreciable. We had heard of great Punjabi hospitality and this visit of ours has seen it at LPU in all reality. |
