| PGs preparing CT Scan, MRI reports, seniors managing private clinics | | GMC&H playing with human lives! | | K Koushal Jammu, June 23: Playing with the human life has become a routine affair at the so called prestigious Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu (GMC&H) as the same could be well gauged from the fact that CT scan and X-Ray reports in Emergency Ward are being prepared by PGs in absence of Registrars in utter violation of set norms. While senior doctors are busy managing their private clinics, PGs are deployed to attend most of the cases in the Premier hospital owing to which the death rate is alarming at GMC&H Jammu. "CT-Scan, X-ray and MRI are the tests which lay basis for the treatment of a patient can be started", said a doctor wishing anonymity. He expressed anguish saying: "if there is any error in the reports of these tests then it has an adverse effect on the treatment of the patients". According to highly placed sources in the GMC&H, mostly Post Graduates of 1st and 2nd year can be seen examining CT scan and X-ray reports in emergency Wing. "All this in the hospital is going on in absence of Registrars, in clear violation of Medical Guidelines. Other than this, there is an acute shortage of drivers to run ambulances and doctors for conducting post mortems and preparation of autopsy reports and the same is hampering smooth functioning of the hospital but the authorities at the helm of the affairs never bother to project clear picture. Despite repeated attempts, Principal GMC&H could not be contacted. |
