| HC directs Health Deptt to hold enquiry | | Selection of FMPHW | | JAMMU, June 23: High Court today directed Director Health Service (DHS) Jammu to hold enquiry into the selection of RekhaSalathia as Female Multipurpose Health Worker (FMHW). In a petition filed by one Pinky challenging the selection of RekhaSalathia as Female Multipurpose Health Worker, Vacation Judge Justice Janak Raj Kotwal today after hearing Adv AM Malik appearing for the petitioner, directed Director Health Services to hold enquiry into the matter and take a decision in the controversy. In the petition, petitioner submitted that she belongs to a village which is catered by FMPHW Sub-Centre Phinter whereas private respondent (RekhaSalathia) does not belong to a village catered by the said Sub-Centre. Petitioner feeling aggrieved of the selection of RekhaSalthia as FMPHW for the said Sub-Centre for the reason that her selection is contrary to the guidelines issued by the Mission Director, NRHM. Advocate ArshadMajid Malik stated that the petitioner shall feel satisfy if the matter is referred to the Director Health Services, Jammu for holding enquiry into above aspect of the matter and taking decision whether selection of respondent no.5 is in conformity with the above mentioned guidelines and till then selection vis-à-vis above said post is stayed. Justice Janak Raj Kotwal today disposed of this petition with a direction to Director Health Services, Jammu to hold enquiry into the matter after hearing both the sides and take a final decision in the controversy. Court further Director Health Services, Jammu shall conclude the proceedings within four weeks hereafter and till the proceedings are concluded, selection of RekhaSlathia shall stay. (JNF) |
