| Seminar on Herbal Farming by Ex-Servicemen concludes | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 23: Winding up the two days Seminar "Ex-Servicemen Leading Herbal Farming" and a visit to the Chatha Farm and Herbal Garden of the Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM), Director IIIM Dr Ram Vishwakarma assured the Ex-Servicemen all support in this unique programme of rehabilitation of Ex-servicemen after retirement through Herbal Farming with the technical and scientific support of the IIIM under CSIR, Government of India. He said he was happy and proud to render some assistance to the Soldiers after retirement as they are the best human resource available in the Country yet untapped. He further said that after they confirm about their land availability IIIM team will visit them next month so that another training programme can be held in July for plantation. Dr Ram Vishwakarma said he would provide planting material for the initial planting, training, visit to the plantations, technical support and buy back arrangements so that the Ex-Servicemen do not face any difficulty in their new venture. There was a good response from the Ex-servicemen from Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Udhampur for Lavender Plantation and from Jammu and Samba areas for Phalsa and other Aromatic Plants. |
