Jammu, June 23 : District Congress Committee (urban) has criticized the hike in railway fare by 14.2 percent, which they termed as biggest blot on democracy. According to press release, a meeting of DCC was held at Congress headquarters Jammu wherein all the participating members unanimously condemned the hike of rail fare. Congress leaders said that mostly poor population of country travel with railways, which was affordable during the UPA regime but new government at center, hiked the fare even before completing 0ne month in office. Prominent among those who attended the meeting included BB Gupta, Mian Nazir Ahmed, Rachpal Singh, PS Chohan, Dr. Ramakant Khajuria, Keshav Nand, JL Koul, Pawan Sharma, Vinay Sharma, Sushil Sharma and others. |
