Early Times Report JAMMU, June 23: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Jammu organized a rally in RS Pura against the menace of Drug Abuse to spread the awareness among the masses. In continuation to the series of programmes being organized on the occasion of "International Say Against The Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking" to be observed on June 26, NCB Jammu Zonal Unit organized a rally at RS Pura. The rally was flagged off by Neeraj Dubey, Commandant, BSF 193 Bn, RS Pura alongwith Manoj Kumar, Zonal Director, Narcotics Control Bureau, Jammu. The rally was started from Mahatma Gandhi Park (behind Tehsil) and culminated at Bana Singh Stadium via RS Pura Bazar and Bus Stand. Students from different school, staff and volunteers of NGO "Sahyog India", BSF personnel from 193 Bn, Sarpanches and Panches of border villages took part in the rally. Narcotics Control Bureau provided banners, and placards to the participants to spread the message visually to the local public in the RS Pura Market. During the rally, pamphlets consisting information on drugs and NDPS Act, were also distributed to the shopkeepers to make them aware about the menace of drug abuse and their ill effects on the human body. Addressing the participants, Manoj Kumar, Zonal Director NCB Jammu emphasized upon the audience regarding the steps being taken by the agency to curb the menace of drug abuse in Jammu and Kashmir. |
