The distressed villagers, who have been left with nothing to latch on to allege that the agencies are distributing relief in Srinagar to hog media lime light ignoring the villages which have suffered irreparable losses. Disastrous flood which destroyed houses, orchards, crops and livestock of dozens of villages of South Kashmir's Pulwama District which include Lelhar, Hajibal, Reshipora, Goripora, Vnadkpora, Kanlibagh, Dangerpora, Padgampora, Larkipora, Gulzarpora, Beighpora, Sale, Chursoo, Sanagam, Adijan and the residents of these villages are now completely dependent on relief and rehabilitation initiatives of government and non government agencies. "People affected by floods in Srinagar also need Relief but one wonders why all the NGO's and separatist factions have restricted their relief activities to Srinagar only. They simply crave for media attention and do not bother to reach to flood affected villages of south Kashmir like ours, where floods turned everything upside down" said Shahzad Ahmad of Goripora. People allege that unplanned distribution of relief has been causing animosity amongst the victimsand vested interests are misguiding the office bearers of NGOs in a bid to grab the relief material. "Many renowned NGO's dealing with health related issues have camped at many places across Srinagar but they too like separatists have restricted their activities to Srinagar only for gaining popularity through media" Said another villager of Sangam village People of Samboora, Goripora said that carcass of hundreds of dead cattle are lying in fields and are attracting wild animals which in turn attack people of adjacent villages. People of all such villages have appealed to NGOs associated with relief Distribution in Srinagar and other parts of the state to visit their villages and help them in this hour grief.
