JAMMU, Sept 25: A young girl was arrested after the vehicle she was driving hit an elderly person at Rehari Chungi, causing his death, here on Wednesday.
As per reports, the incident took place at about 0700 hours when a car ( SX4) bearing registration No.JK02BA-4112 on its way to Balwinder Chowk from Sarwal, hit one person namely Inderjeet Padha S/o Diwan Chand Padha H.No. 24, Lane No. 30 Rajpura Jammu who was a retired Health Department Employee. The injured was immediately shifted to GMC Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
In this connection a case FIR No. 144/2014 u/s 279, 304-A RPC has been registered in Police Station Pacca Danga.
A senior police officer when contacted said that the vehicle collided with the footpath and got damaged after hitting the deceased.
Later, police seized the vehicle and arrested the driver of the vehicle, reported to be daughter of a senior police officer. The officer further said that the investigation has been set into the motion. |
