Post Floods: Police takes up massive rehabilitation, cleanliness work across Jammu

Jammu, Sept 25: Continuing its Civic Action Programme particularly as a part of ongoing massive relief cum rehabilitation programme initiated by state government, Jammu Police took up rehabilitation cum cleanliness works across the Jammu city and its surrounding.
According to police spokesperson, Jammu Police took up rehabilitation work in Channi Himat area. "The road leading to temple in Trikuta Nagar Extension was cleared of garbage. "The temple premises was also cleared of mud which was accumulated after floods, he said.
He said, "The main nallah was also cleared of mud and wild weed growth so as to create smooth flow of water. It is pertinent to mention that the said nalluh was blocked and during rains water had entered into the house of people living in low lying areas and 25 Juggiwalas were saved by the Jammu Police.
Apart from these initiatives, a team of Jammu Police also cleared Govt. Primary School Bilal Colony Channi Rama under this specially launched 'cleanness drive' by removing silt and garbage accumulated during heavy rain and floods early this month.
Meanwhile, carrying forward its relief/rehabilitation drive in flood affected areas, the Police in R.S Pura in coordination of specially constituted teams from DPL today continued its relief & rehabilitation operations in Badyal Brahmana, Kadyal of R S Pura Police Station, Salehar and adjoining areas in Arnia Police Station, Partap Singh Pura and Wazira Chak in Bishnah Police Station.
After launching amassive cleanliness drive to clean schools and houses, Police helped locals in maintaining cleanliness in their respective areas, he added.
He said during these drives people were also made aware about the precaution for maintenance of sanitary and hygienic conditions in the vicinity for ensuring healthy and disease free environment, so that the chances of outbreak of any disease are minimized.
Meantime Domana Police also constituted team from DPL today continued it cleanliness operation in flood affected Sandwan and Thoob areas. After cleaning the flood affected houses, residence were helped in shifting the household items to their houses. The outer areas were also got cleaned for hygienic environment so that the chances of outbreak of any disease are minimized.
Likewise, Nagrota Police assisted by DPL special police team today again remove a lot of mud from the remaining classrooms of Govt Middle School, Sitni Bye Pass Nagrota and made all the classrooms were functional. The student as well as staff members of the school have appreciated the police for its goodwill gesture.
