Parvash of Haryana wins Mathwar Kesari dangal

JAMMU, Sept 27: Bharat Kesari and national champion, Parvash, who hails from Haryana and serves with Railways, clinched the Vth Annual Mathwar Kesari dangal defeating Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla in Punjab in the title bout at Mathwar, near Akhnoor, here.
Winner Parvash awarded with a handsome cash prize of Rs 41,000 jointly by Minister for PHE, Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for Sports, Raman Bhalla and Baba Yash Paul Sharma. Runners-up, Abdul Gani presented with Rs 30,000 cash prize.
Also present were Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ajit Kumar Sahu, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP Jammu, Uttam Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kalyan Singh, Sarpanch Ashok Kumar and Tilak Raj Sharma.
This dangal was organized by Mathwar Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Baba Yash Paul Sharma, president of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch Ashok Kumar Sharma.
In all, 34 bouts took place in this day-long dangal wherein 67 wrestlers from within and outside the state participated.
The second main bout went to Benia Min of J&K Police, who trounced Sunil of Harayana. While Benia got Rs 31,000, Sunil presented with Rs 20,000 as prize money. In third bout, Gurmail of BSF emerged winner beating Yodha of Amritsar.
In the fourth bout, Roshan Lal of J&K Police trounced Amrit Maan of Amritsar while Sandeep of Sonipat beat Kulbir singh of Kot Bhalwal in Jammu for the fifth main bout.
Members and technical officials who helped for the smooth conduct of the event included Baba Yash Paul Sharma, Sarpanch Ashok Kumar Sharma, Tilak Raj Sharma, Kaku, Shakti, Narinder, Lovely, Babu, Naresh Kumar, Sohan Singh, Raman Kumar, Varinder Kumar Sharma, Om Parkash Sharma, Dheeraj Kumar Sharma, Jai Bharat, Deepak Wazir, Tulinder Kumar, Vijay Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Ramnik Nowadha, Murli Dhar (Munna), Mohan Lal Numberdar and Jagdish Dutt.
