| 3 held for duping job aspirants in Kulgam | | |

Kulgam, Sept 28: Kulgam police on today arrested three persons for duping job aspirants of the district after police received a written complaint from the duped aspirants. Arrested persons have identified themselves as the representatives of 'Pacific Aviation Academy'. Police sources said that a group of job seekers on Sunday approached police station Kulgam with a complaint that a local fraud group claiming 100% job placement in aviation sector has arrived in the town to interview fresher's in a local school. They informed the police that group has duped them earlier by not providing the jobs as per the agreement, revealed police sources. Duped aspirants alleged that they were forced to pay huge amounts after they qualified their interview and written examination but were not given the jobs. "After qualifying the examination they promised us jobs in airlines but after reaching Delhi we weren't and instead of providing us jobs aviation they adjusted us in shops malls." An aspirant told Early Times, adding they were threatened by the group not to disclose it in public. He said that they decided to approach police station after we came to know that they have again decided to lure fresh and innocent job seekers. Aspirants alleged that the three member group might be involved in human trafficking practices. "If police investigate it properly they might get clues of human traffic," he said. Swiftly acting on the complaint, Kulgam police arrested the trio from a nearby school where they were holding the examination of hundreds of job seekers. A senior police official confirmed the arrest of trio and said that they have started investigation after registering First Information report. "We have registered an FIR (201/2014) u/s 420 and are investigating it." Police official told Early Times. Meanwhile, locals in the district have hailed the swift action of police and demanded stern punishment to the accused dupers. "Our unemployed youth are being exploited but this kind of exploitation is unacceptable so they must be punished." A resident said. |
