Srinagar, Sept 28: The state Congress leaders say that the federal government was waiting for imposition of Governor's rule in Jammu Kashmir and had therefore withheld funds for the trime being. Former Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Congress Chief, Saif-ud-Din Soz said that things would have been different in Congress rule. Rumor's are rife about imposition of Governor's rule in the state. This follows indications from new Delhi about defering elkections which otherwise are due in November. Rumors also suggest that some agencies were working day and nighht to pave way for governor's rule in the state. A senior Congress elader saidf that ministers are puppes. "What can they do without funds in a situation like this? BJP is using all means to impose Governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir," he said. While commenting on incidents of stone pelting on Ministers and other politicians across kashmir these days, the leader said such incidents are expected keeping in view the lazy attitude by the state and central governments. "Nobody is happy with Omar Abdullah and nobody is angry also, reality is that politicians of jammu and Kashmir despite being in power are nothing more than scape goats, I don't remember but I think state was given one thousand crore initially by central government post floods hit Kashmir to use the amount in relief and rehabilitation works but same amount too was not given in the hands of finance Minister as used to happen previously." He concluded with the hope that 'in case centre government is planning to impose Governor rule in the state, let them impose is too early then, only thing that matters is that flood affected people of south, Central and North Kashmir should be assisted financially to the extent that they can at least feed their families and save their families during approaching harsh winter ahead. |
