JAMMU, Sept 27: 'The golden opportunity which one seeks is in himself. It is not in the environment, not in his luck or in the help of others. It is in himself alone.' Inspired by this thought of Orison Surtmarden and encouraging the students' participation in game and sports, Carmel Convent School organized and Inter House Basketball Competition on the school premises. Trained by Dheeraj Jamwal and Nayna Bamotra, the High School Basketball teams of the four houses namely Satya House, Sneha House, Shanti House and Shakti House prepared themselves to their level best to face the challenge. Their unparalleled potential could be seen in the tough competition they gave to each other during the match The students were seen cheering for their respective house enthusiastically. In the semi final rounds held on 26th Sept 2014, Satya House and Sneha house defeated Shakti House and Shanti House respectively. The finalist Houses, then played on 27th Sept, 2014 in the final round. The match was extremely interesting and the participants were playing vigorously, The match ended. When Sneha House defeated Satya House after a neck to neck fight. The Principal of the school Sr. Maria Suzetee A.C appreciated the players for their teamwork and encouraged the students to continue playing well. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief guest for the day Vishal Bharti, Senior Professor at Physical Education Department appreciated the initiative by the school and stimulated the students to continue working hard. |
